The latest buzz in the virtual world a.k.a the world of video gaming is that “The Last Remnant” will be launched on the Xbox 360 first. The Xbox, Microsofts gaming system would see the RPG this winter before the PS3 version of “The Last Remnant” hits the gaming world as announced by Square Enix at a press conference.

Also aiming to cash in on the craze for role-playing games in Japan, Square Enix and Microsoft have announced a new endeavor called ‘Star Ocean: The Last Hope’. The game has a science fiction feel to it with humanity leading the way to a new universe after destroying planet Earth. Nothing surprising about that. Although slated for the Xbox 360 as of now, it seems common sense that a PS3 version should follow. Point to be noted-the game bears an uncanny resemblance to PS3’s ‘Star Ocean IV’; so much for originality!

Not to be left behind, Atari has announced that work is complete on the highly anticipated and eagerly awaited action survival game ‘Alone in the Dark’. The game is on track to ship 20 June in Europe and 24 June in North America for Xbox 360 game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PC, Wii and PlayStation 2. The PLAYSTATION 3 version is scheduled for autumn 2008. And as regards the virtual musicians there is good news in the form of Activision, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: ATVI) Guitar Hero World Tour.

The latest Guitar Hero World Tour aims to transform music gaming by combining Guitar Hero’s exhilarating guitar game play, with a live band like experience that employs state of the art wireless instruments with new online and offline game play modes. So get set, to Game on!
