The video games specialist, Game Group announced that business was at an all time high with the coming of a new generation of gaming consoles and titles. Games such as SingStar, a karaoke game are drawing a new set of customers who desire a personally interactive game. And it’s not just men who are into gaming as an entertainment option. More women are joining the fray day by day. Game Group said that its total sales in UK and other international stores were up by over 54 percent till June 28^th. 

Lisa Morgan, the chief executive of Game Group said that profits (pre-tax) till July 31 will be at least $33 million which is about 32 percent more than the City’s forecasts. Game Group is riding high on the list of successive retailers. Many analysts believe that the surprising success stories of brands such as Majestic Wine, HMV or even Domino’s Pizza indicate that the money-crunch is turning consumers into lazy couch potatoes. Apart from the Xbox 360 and PS3, the Wii, the Nintendo DS and PSP are also attracting customers in large numbers.

 And with new vide games belonging to all types of genres being churned out everyday; the market for video games is reaching new highs. So the next time you are itching to go out, take a minute and opt for your gaming console instead because not only is it fun, it is also much cheaper!
